What is a doctor's assistant? |
|
The qualified doctor's assistant works for the family doctor and the practice-nurse. The doctor's assistant is your first point of contact during the registration hour. He or she will ask you about your symptoms and judge whether you need to go to the doctor or to a practice-nurse. If you need to go to the doctor or practice-nurse, the doctor's assistant will make an appointment for you. You might get advice from the doctor's assistant on how to help you with your symptoms. If you call the GC A Practiceline with a medical question you will get a doctor's assistant on the phone. Also, you will be asked here what your symptoms are and it will then be decided where you should go. The doctor's assistant on the Practiceline can also make an appointment for you while speaking with you on the phone.
